A significant number of diplomatic missions are established in Belgium, whether bilateral missions or missions to the European Union. Moreover, a growing number of international organizations settle in Belgium, whether to establish their main headquarters or to open a liaison office to the European Union.
As a result, the practice of Belgian public authorities – including national courts – is developing; specifically relating to jurisdictional immunities or tax exemptions enjoyed by diplomatic missions, international organizations, their respective staff and members of their families, protection of the diplomatic premises and communication of the mission, road traffic issues, etc.
Lorenz proposes two bimonthly newsletters: Brussels Diplomat and Brussels International. These newsletters report, summarily and in a practical way, the most recent legal developments in the above fields, both in Belgium and internationally. They highlight the concrete issues for the daily work of Brussels-based diplomatic missions and international organizations.
