Document Management Policies

As result of the new digital media, an ever increasing number of data and records are created within your company.

Document management controls the life cycle of documents in your organisation – how they are created, reviewed, published and consumed, and how they are ultimately disposed of or retained.

We advise clients on the requirements imposed by various types of laws (e.g., privacy, e-discovery, document retention) on the management of documents from their creation through their destruction. We assist them in:

  • Adopting reasonable policies for managing information and records;
  • Adopting realistic and practical information and records management policies;
  • Adopting procedures that address the creation, identification, retention, retrieval and ultimate disposition or destruction of information and records; and
  • Ensuring compliance with preservation obligations related to actual or reasonably-anticipated litigation, government investigations or audits.
